(Elaeocarpus ganitrus) produces the sacred seed known as rudraksha . The
Himalayan regions of India, Nepal, and Indonesia are where it is primarily
found. The terms "Rudra" and "Aksha," which denote Lord
Shiva and the teardrop or eye, respectively, in Sanskrit, are the roots of the
word "Rudraksha."
